A look at a few casual wedding ideas for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money, but want to go all out. Discussions about how just a few small things can really go a long way toward making your wedding one to remember for a lifetime.

When it comes to casual wedding ideas, you may not have the slightest clue where to start. Since it is your wedding, or perhaps the wedding of a close friend or relative, it’s evident you want to make sure that it’s wonderful. Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do from creating unique invitations, preparing food, to decorating that will make everything as wonderful as you had hoped it would be.

We are living in hard economic times, so it’s understandable that not everyone has a lot of money. When it comes to food, one of the best casual wedding ideas is to create your own. Maybe you have a couple of old family recipes up your sleeve. It sure would be nice to share your talents with the rest of the crowd.

You could also encourage others to prepare food to bring to the reception, that way everyone feels included and no one has to break their wallet. Fortunately, food prepared at home doesn’t cost a lot of money. You can purchase all the necessary ingredients from your local grocery store. It’s definitely better than hiring a catering service – and a lot cheaper!

All weddings need invitations, and sometimes, it’s okay to be a spendthrift, especially when you’ve got the money. But wouldn’t you much rather spend all your money on going all out rather than just on your wedding invitations? One of the most casual wedding ideas that will save you both time and money include creating your own wedding invitations. You don’t necessary have to pay a print shop to create them, you can create them yourself or go to a professional photo shop to have both yours and your future spouse’s picture put on the front.

Sit down and think about what you want your invitations to say. For a casual approach, your invitations should stay short, sweet, and to the point. Provide them name’s of the individuals getting married, when the wedding will be, and where. You might even want to add a cute seasonal them, such as flowers, fall leaves, or winter snowflakes.

As far as decorations are concerned, you don’t want to do without them. A lot of people have simplistic weddings free of decorations, and that’s fine, but if you want to go the extra mile, decorations are necessary. Adding decorative table cloths to each table will accent the mood like nothing else. Also consider purchasing a small spring bouquet of flowers for each table to add more life to the room.

Another one of the casual wedding ideas you might like in terms of decorating include flower petals sprinkled along the walk way. You can choose to purchase one type of flower, or several, depending on the theme of your wedding and of course, your personal taste.

As you plan your wedding, try not to overdo it. Just by adding a few simple and creative accents, you can make your wedding one of the most spectacular that both you and your guests have ever seen.
